Institut Rosell Signs Probiotic Agreement
Institut Rosell, Montreal, Canada, has granted Merckle Recordati GmbH, Ulm, Germany, the exclusive rights to distribute Lactobacillus plantarum (Lp) 299v-based probiotics in Germany. Lp299v has been scientifically and clinically documented for its beneficial effects on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients. In fact, Institute Rosell claims one placebo-controlled randomized study showed that Lp299v improved intestinal discomfort by up to 95% in patients (compared to 15% with placebo), while abdominal pain and bloating significantly decreased.
